Curt is a retired graphics artist living in Hesston, Ks.  In addition to his book, Curt worked on research for the video "Hear the Whistle Blowin."

Besides Newton High School basketball history, the book contains twenty nine original pen and ink drawings by Dale Stewart. Most are based on Santa Fe operations on main and branch lines in Kansas in the late 1940's and 1950's - the era of transition from steam to diesel power.  Also depicted are sites and scenes along Frisco, Missouri Pacific and Arkansas Valley Interurban track in Harvey and Butler counties.
